The Shades Of the World

is the project that combines folk and traditional music of various countries all around
the world, jazz and improvisation. A musical collaboration that started in 2015, while
Lithuanian musicians were staying at the Rhine-Ruhr, successfully continued the long
lasting partnership of twin cities Vilnius and Duisburg. Under the wing of German artist
and manager Rüdiger Eichholtz the mutual effort of Lithuanian and German musicians
commenced in a local art gallery/concert hall Lokal Harmonie. The collaboration
instantly captivated the art lovers of Duisburg.
'In this age of alienation it gets hard to understand eachother, other nations and
different customs. Perhaps now the language is not enough to communicate? Maybe
now we can only look deeply into eachother's heart, water the roots while feeling
eachother's pulse and listen with our eyes closed? Can you hear it? The old melody
that comes through an opened window, the melody that tells the legend of China.
Here comes the wind that is hardly felt, the wind that comes from a pleaded robe, the
robe worn by a dervish who keeps on spinning while being in harmony with the
sounds. The bang that made you flinch is a lively dance filled with movements and the
roister that happens in the heart of Africa.

Ieva Baranauskait?. She is certificated Jazz artist and a MA of Contemporary Academic
Music Composition. In addition she is a vocalist, pianist, composer, manager and
songwriter. In more than ten years she has played more than 200 concerts of original
material in Lithuania and abroad. She has presented her music on the TV, radio,
national and international festivals. As a musical theatre composer she successfully
debuted in a Cezaris Gražinis' play Tamošius Bekepuris. In Dalia Tamulevi?i?t?'s
festival of professional theatre the play won
Best Interpretation of Lithuanian Classics and The Audience Choice awards in 2016. In the same year Ieva debuted as a
composer of symphonic music. The artist is open to various projects of multiculture
and art synthesis, writes music for plays, gives masterclasses in Germany for children,
constantly collaborates with other musicians, managers and artists from India, USA,
Belarus, Germany, etc. Ieva works with the theatre
Cezario Grup?. She is the leader of bands Such'a'Trip, esi, Jazz By Two and In albedo.
